Denise M. Bloomquist

Denise M. Bloomquist assumed the position of Executive Director for Project Janus, Inc. in 2007 after spending eighteen years working as District Manager and Chief of Staff for two members of the Texas House of Representatives.

A native of Des Moines, Iowa, Denise holds a Bachelor of General Studies Degree from the University of Iowa, a Master of Divinity Degree and Master of Theology Degree in Psychology and Counseling from Texas Christian University, and a Master of Public Administration from Angelo State University.

She currently serves on the advisory committee for the Texas Department of State Health Services "STARS" Grant designed to reduce the practices of restraint and seclusion in state hospitals and is a member of the NADD, a national association for persons with developmental disabilities and mental health needs(DD/MH). In 2008, she made a presentation on the barriers to services currently faced by Texans with a dual diagnosis (DD/MH) at NADD National Conference.

Denise is active in the local community where she serves as a member of the advisory boards for the Concho Valley Partnership and the RSVP of the Concho Valley. She also serves on the Community Investment Panel for the United Way of the Concho Valley (UWCV) which is charged with reviewing performance of agencies receiving funding from the UWCV and co-hosts a local weekly public affairs radio program "Dialog" for all four Foster Communications stations.
